The workshop aims at attracting contributions from diverse areas in CSCW that are being undertaken in, or about, Latin America. The range of topics might include, but are not limited to:

  • Qualitative CSCW studies in or about Latin America;
  • Social media and technology studies using data from/about Latin America;
  • Collaborative system development and user studies situated in Latin America;
  • Domain/industry specific social and collaborative applications in Latin America;
  • Other CSCW and social computing topics related to Latin America.

We cannot anticipate all possible issues that will emerge from the submissions and discussion during the workshop. Thus, another outcome of this workshop will be a map of CSCW research in, or about Latin America. As we will discuss in the next section, during the last sessions of the workshop, we plan to create posters describing the results of the workshop. One of these posters will be a map about CSCW research in, or about, Latin America. We plan to disseminate these results as a column in the ACM Interactions Magazine, as well as promote the formation of joint research and development projects among workshop participants.
